Project Omega
Project Omega is a 25 year Public Private Partnership contract to upgrade, operate and maintain existing wastewater treatment works (WWTW) and wastewater pumping stations (WWPS) at the following locations across Northern Ireland;
- North Down Ards WWTW, Donaghadee
- Donaghadee WWPS
- Millisle WWPS
- Bullays Hill, Lurgan / Seagoe, Portadown / Ballynacor, Craigavon WWTWs
- Richhill WWTW, Armagh
- Armagh WWTW, Armagh
- Ballyrickard WWTW, Comber
We also operate and maintain the wastewater Sludge Disposal Service at Belfast's Duncrue Street incinerator which treats all of Northern Ireland’s wastewater treatment works sludges.
Veolia and Laing O’Rourke make up the Glen Water Ltd consortium that will operate and maintain the wastewater services for the duration of the contract.
Corporate Responsibility
Veolia is an active member of Business in the Community, Northern Ireland's responsible business network.
We were only the second company to be awarded the Silver Level CORE accreditation following our first applications. CORE is Northern Ireland’s only corporate responsibility accreditation and strategically supports companies to develop their approach to corporate responsibility.
We have been shortlisted in the Responsible Company of the Year and Well-being at Work categories at the NI Responsible Business Awards.
We worked with Young Enterprise NI at Euston Street Primary School to deliver their Business Beginnings programme. The programme is for Year 7 pupils to learn what it takes to run a business. Over the 6 weeks they will develop a product and then sell it at a trade fair in Victoria Square.
Our teams are actively involved in many local activities including beach cleans and biodiversity events.
