Hazardous waste management facilities

Large network of in-house treatment facilities gives access the best overall environmental option

Safe compliant management of hazardous waste

The island of Ireland is home to numerous pharmaceutical, biopharma, technology and food/beverage manufacturing plants which all require sustainable total waste management solutions for their hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.

The challenge

Provide a tailor made service for the management and treatment of hazardous waste in a safe, compliant and transparent way which maximises recovery.

The solution

Veolia’s integrated waste management and transfer facility in Fermoy, Co. Cork is licenced to operate 24/7/365 and can accept 61,000 tonnes of hazardous and 11,000 tonnes of non-hazardous wastes per annum.

The on-site solvent blending plant enables recovery of solvents as a secondary liquid fuel which provides a more sustainable solution as the fuel is used to replace fossil fuels.

Veolia’s facility in Fermoy is part of a wider European network of hazardous waste facilities that support 10,000 industrial customers and 100,00 commercial customers. This network includes 9 facilities in the UK.
